Traveling to Northern Cyprus
As you probably know, Cyprus is an island located in Mediterranean Sea. If you are thinking of traveling to Northern Cyprus, it is a trip that can be made only by sea or by air. The trip by sea is particularly favourable for travellers who wish to bring their cars with them on the trip. Northern Cyprus has an area of 3,355 square kilometres (1,295 sq. mi), which amounts to around a third of the island. 75 kilometres (47 mi) to the north of Northern Cyprus lies Turkey with Syria lying 97 kilometres (60.3 mi) to the east. It lies between latitudes 34° and 36° N, and longitudes 32° and 35° E.

The trip to Northern Cyprus by air can be made in one of two ways:
Via Turkey:
Several companies carry out flights to Northern Cyprus via Turkey. Turkish Airlines, a star alliance airline, is probably one of the best known airlines that fly this route. Traveling to Northern Cyprus by air
Via Southern Cyprus:
This second entry point is particularly appropriate for individuals or families who either have Schengen visas or live in the Euro zone. If you are flying to Northern Cyprus via Southern Cyprus, you will land at Larnaca Airport. It is the main airport of Southern Cyprus. After you arrival, you can order a taxi from the airport to your hotel. However, please ensure that you inform the driver that you are going to a hotel on the Northern side to avoid being dropped off at the border checkpoint.
Traveling to Northern Cyprus by air
There is another airport located at Paphos. Paphos is particularly famous for its archaeological sites and wonders. We would suggest that you spend a day in Paphos to enjoy the sights and wonders of that town. Afterwards, you can arrange a taxi to bring you to Northern Cyprus. The trip to Nicosia is about an hour and thirty minutes. It just long enough for you to have a short nap.
Traveling to Northern Cyprus by Sea

What to pack for your trip to Northern Cyprus
Planning a trip to another country always raises the question about what to pack. Generally, it depends on the duration of the trip, season, expected activities and your personal preferences. If you intend to see the sights and do a bit of hiking, it would be wise to pack hiking boots. Furthermore, it can get pretty hot during summer in Northern Cyprus. Therefore, you should pack clothes that are light and comfortable. Also, keep your sunscreen close as you will definitely need it. Winter in Northern Cyprus is short. Before you leave, it would be wise to check the weather forecast to find out if winter has started or if it has ended. During winter, daily temperatures are around 17-23 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature could drop to about 5 degrees Celsius or lower at night. Also, during the winter, the weather can change quickly, so dress accordingly. It is better to take an umbrella and a windproof jacket.
Visas
Upon arrival in Northern Cyprus, you will receive a free touristic visa for a period up to 90 days. You can order a taxi or rent a car to get to your hotel. Generally, there are many tourists who wish to rent a car from May to October. Therefore, it is better to contact the rent-a-car agency in advance and reserve a car for yourself. You can do it via their web sites or phone, as their employees usually speak English.
